Faith and Reason

The harmonic synthesis of St. Thomas Aquinas between faith and reason serves as the foundation of our teaching, research, and public service. The University’s renowned Faculties of Theology, Philosophy, Canon Law, and Social Sciences foster the formation of new leaders committed to promoting human development and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Angleicum - Faith and Reason

The Angelicum is comprised of 1,104 students from more than 93 countries, and four continents worldwide.

The University fosters an engaged and interactive teaching environment. 60% of the courses of study in the Faculties of Theology and Philosophy are in the English language.

The Angelicum is blessed to have 440 years of history, filled with the contributions of many notable alumni, including Saint John Paul II.

Theology

Theology

Theology

Taking our inspiration from Thomas Aquinas, the Faculty of Theology continues to transmit and deepen the theological Tradition of the Church by attentive listening to the Word of God, fidelity to the Magisterium of the Church, and sensitivity to contemporary questions.

Philosophy

Philosophy

Philosophy

With Aquinas, the Faculty of Philosophy believes that, in principle, reason can lead the mind to God and that it can offer insights into many general and fundamental problems of human existence.

Canon Law

Canon Law

Canon Law

Inspired by the teaching of Aquinas that canon law is a participation in divine law as human law is a participation in natural law, the Faculty of Canon Law provides students with a thorough formation in the current codes of canon law, including their theological foundations, juridical principles and practical applications.

Social Sciences

Social Sciences

Social Sciences

The Faculty of Social Sciences contributes to the integral and sustainable development of society in the light of Catholic social teaching and the Dominican social tradition through the interdisciplinary formation of change agents in its teaching, research and community outreach.

From the Trinitarian mystery itself springs the power of your spirituality which can form the mind and heart of the true evangelizer for our time.
