Preparations Underway for 7 March Patronal Feast

Each year our university celebrates our patronal feast of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Common Doctor of the Church on 7 March.  We have special permission from the Diocese of Rome to observe the feast on this day (older calendar) because St. Thomas’ regular feast (28 January) always falls during our exam period.  This year the feast will coincide with our Theology faculty’s bestowal of an honorary doctorate to His Excellency, Bishop Robert Barron, Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles (USA). Bishop Barron taught at the Angelicum when he was a scholar in residence at the Pontifical North American College a number of years back. He also frequently talks about St. Thomas Aquinas when he preaches and teaches. Our pontifical university is proud to honor Bishop Barron for his incredible work of Evangelization for the Church.
