STRONG Programme: 6 scholarships available for the 2nd Semester 2018-19
In December 2018, the international community will sign two Global Compacts, one on refugees and the other on safe and orderly migration. The Vatican has been directly and heavily involved in the drafting of these documents; now it behoves the educational institutions of the church to follow up on this great effort invested, and the progress achieved, by Pope Francis and his collaborators.
The STRONG programme will do just that. It is focused on the empowerment of foreign citizens residing in Italy and of Italians with migrant backgrounds, both young and adult, so that they can become agents of social change as well as improve the social inclusion of migrants in their local environment.
More specifically, the programme provides access to university education for young people with migrant backgrounds and for adult migrants who want to complete their previous education, improve their job opportunities, tackle their marginalised status and improve their sense of self-worth.
At the end of the programme, participants will have a holistic knowledge of Social Sciences and/or the management of civil society organizations. They will benefit from a rich multicultural experience, and have mastered basic research tools as part of social action projects in cooperation with associations, institutions and STRONG project partners.
