Email to the University
Dear Angelicum family:
One of our professors has informed us this morning that he might have COVID. The professor was not symptomatic when he came to campus on Tuesday and therefore taught in presence that day. The professor has not yet been tested, so it is not yet a confirmed case. We are currently treating his case as a Suspected Case (see Terms and Definitions in the University’s protocols.)
Here is the good news: we understand that the professor wore his mask during the entire lesson. We also have confirmed that he maintained the use of his mask while speaking with Faculty and staff, prior to leaving the facilities. The time spent with these individuals also was less than 15 minutes and was at the appropriate minimum of 1 meter of social distancing.
Since the professor followed the necessary protocols, we will not be asking you to self-isolate. However, if his test comes back positive, we will contact numero verde, follow their instructions and possibly require you to self-isolate for 14 days as a precaution. If you begin to experience any symptoms – do not come to campus – please call the numero verde (800118800) and contact us so that we can continue contact tracing.
There is no reason to be alarmed or anxious. The professor followed all the protocols while on campus and for this we are grateful. It is important that we all do our part to help prevent and mitigate the spread of COVID, and the professor did exactly what was required. The professor’s conscientiousness certainly has helped to minimize any possibility of contagion.
Please always make sure to wear your mask while on campus, wash your hands frequently, and maintain one meter of social distancing from one another.
We will soon be sending an email to the students who were in Aula with the professor. In the meantime, please pray for the health of our entire Angelicum family.
