This course is the second part of a two-semester introduction to ethics. Taking Plato and Aristotle’s view of a good human life as its starting point, this class will investigate in detail what is involved in and required for living such a life. By the end of this second semester, students should be able to explain the connections between good and bad moral actions, virtues and vices, law, and friendship, and how each of these themes relates to human happiness.
