This is the first semester of a three-year sequence of courses in Latin. In the first semester, the students are introduced to the Latin language and fundamental grammar, as well as introductory vocabulary, combining both traditional a traditional grammatical approach and a living language approach. Students are required to obtain a copy of the textbook Lingua Latina per se illustrata by Ørberg; the textbook by Scanlon and Scanlon will be made available electronically, but are encouraged to acquire a printed copy for use away from the computer.
