On 10 October, an ecumenical evening entitled ‘Listening to the East’ on synodality in the Orthodox traditions was held in Rome, where the book of proceedings of the 2022 conferences at the Angelicum was presented, and a documentary film on the conferences themselves was screened, organised by the Pro Oriente Foundation in Vienna and the Oecumenicum (Angelicum Institute of Ecumenical Studies). The event was held at the Institutum Patristicum Augustinianum.

Present were Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, Archbishop of Vienna and President of the Board of the Pro Oriente Foundation.
and Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Promotion of Christian Unity.

 

The event was moderated by Rev. Fr. Hyacinthe Destivelle, OP, Director of the Oecumenicum (Institute of Ecumenical Studies at the Angelicum), and was attended by H.E. Msgr. Brian Farrell, Secretary of the DPUC, Rev. Nathalie Becquart, Undersecretary of the Synod, Rev. Michel Jalakh, Secretary of the Dicastery for the Oriental Churches, Mr. Bernd Mussinghoff, General Secretary of Pro Oriente, Members of the Synod, Fraternal Delegates, as well as numerous representatives of local Churches, Pontifical Universities, and the diplomatic corps.
