Fr. Davenport Gives Lecture at Society of Catholic Scientists Conference

Fr. Thomas Davenport, O.P. gave a lecture at the 2023 conference of the Society of Catholic Scientists entitled: “This is My Body: Transubstantiation and Modern Science.” In his presentation, he discussed the philosophical background behind the Catholic Church’s doctrine of Transubstantiation and how, although the doctrine is mysterious and counterintuitive, it is no more mysterious or counterintuitive in light of modern science than it was when formulated in the early church or any other stage of the Church’s history.
