Course Description
Building on the foundations from the Methodology Seminar, the Reading Seminar, and the Rhetorical Seminar, the general focus of this fourth and final seminar will be to aid the student in utilizing the skills of academic argumentation as taught in the previous seminars, but to do so in written form by the writing of a fully-formed 15-page paper. Students will formulate a thesis statement from a choice of topics provided by the Faculty of Theology. The 15-page paper must have (1) a clearly defined thesis statement, (2) well-ordered and logically-flowing argumentation with supporting evidence and articulated warrants, and (3) a conclusion that represents a true synthesis of the thesis, explaining and/or restating why the thesis is important and relevant.
