“I Will Come to You”: The Biblical Vision of the Temple

This class examines the Bible’s understanding of the Divine Presence and its earthly abode. We will address three major topics: 1) the relationship between Temple traditions in the Bible and those in the ancient Near East, 2) the role of the Temple within the Bible’s larger theological framework, and 3) the development of Temple Theology in early Jewish and Christian communities.
