Introduction to Canon Law

This is the introductory course to the law of the Latin Church. The course will give a brief history of the Church’s canon law. The bulk of the course will consider general norms (Book I), the hierarchical constitution of the Church, and the law of religious life (Book II). Some attention will also be given the canons on teaching and preaching (Book III), financial administration (Book V), and delicts and processes (Books VI & VII). Students should already have taken the course on ecclesiology.
