Course Description
The Middle Ages saw the rise of summaries of theology as well as manuals for confessors, alongside collections of analyzed legal and moral cases. This course considers specific instances of these movements as the context of the rise of casuistry and manualism, and related modern approaches to moral theology. In addition, this course discusses how to utilize theological manuals and how to analyze and respond prudently to difficult moral situations.
