This course will study what is distinctive in the path to holiness of the secular priest seen in relation to the other paths to holiness such as those of religious and lay people and in relation to the universal call to holiness of all in the church. The Vatican II documents on priests Presbyterorum Ordinis and the formation of priests Optatam Totius will be used, also St John Paul’s letter Pastores Dabo Vobi along with material from St Thomas Aquinas and St John Vianney.
