Theology of Grace

Professore

Course Description

The course will begin with an examination of the Scriptural witness to grace before proceeding to look at a small selection of the Church Fathers on its deifying power. St. Augustine, the Doctor of Grace, will of course be afforded due attention. Naturally, particular attention will be given to St. Thomas’s theology of grace. Its Scriptural foundation, its deifying power, and its relationship with the theological virtues, the other infused virtues, and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit will be emphasized. The course will conclude by studying the various division of grace delineated by Thomas.
