Introduction to Biblical Law

Course Description

This course introduces graduate students to textual (Hebrew and Greek), historical, anthropological, and conceptual dimensions of law in and beyond the Old Testament. The focus is on understanding laws and their hermeneutical aspects in the ancient contexts where they were composed and transmitted. Students will grow in their knowledge of the nature of law, ancient scribal practices, and law’s philosophical and theological significance.
