Sacred doctrine most properly makes determinations concerning God… because it does so not only with regard to that which is knowable by way of creatures (which the philosophers knew…) but also with regard to that which is known by Him alone about Himself, and by others through revelation that has been communicated to them. Hence sacred doctrine is especially called wisdom.
