Making a Spiritual Communion (suspension of public Masses/quarantine)

Making a Spiritual Communion (suspension of public Masses/quarantine)

In light of the Communiqué of the CEI and the Decree of the Cardinal Vicar of Rome, we, the chaplains of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, encourage you in these difficult days to make a daily spiritual communion, using the prayer below.

We also encourage all of our priests–professors, students, and staff–to include in your intentions all of the faithful of the Angelicum who will not be able to be at Mass during this Lent.     -Fr. Ciro Bova OP & Fr. Dominic Holtz OP

My Jesus,

I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love You above all things,

and I desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You.  Amen.
