Angelicum alumnus, Mgr Leomar Brustolin, appointed Archbishop by Pope Francis

On Wednesday 2 June, Pope Francis appointed Monsignor Leomar Antônio Brustolin, until now auxiliary bishop in the archdiocese of Porto Alegre (RS), Archbishop of Santa Maria (RS) in the state of Rio grande do Sul, Brazil.

Brustolin defended his doctoral thesis, entitled A parusia de Cristo, para os cristãos e o mundo : na teologia de Jürgen Moltmann, at the Angelicum in 2000 under the direction of Fr. Marco Salvati, OP
