Angelicum Vice Rector appointed to Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences

Pope Francis has appointed the Angelicum’s Vice Rector, Sr. Helen Alford, O.P. (Domincan Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena), as an ordinary member of the Pontifical Academy of the Social Sciences.

Sr. Helen Alford, OP, was born in London on May 1, 1964 and graduated in Management Engineering from Cambridge University, where she also earned a PhD. She is a member of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena of Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal (South Africa).  She has taught subjects related to economic ethics and the history of Christian social thought in various universities. She has served as a consultor of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.  She is the author of numerous publications on management theory and corporate social responsibility.
