Content

The aim of this course is to get acquainted with the main characteristics of the Johannine Writings, namely: the Gospel of John, First, Second and Third Letter of John, and the Book of Revelation. The course will open with a discussion concerning the place of these writings in the New Testament canon and their use in early Christianity. With ragrd to individual Writings, we shall focus on the following aspects: literary genre and style, structure, addressees, purpose, place of composition, date, authorship, and the main themes.
