Content

This course is meant to provide a practical instruction in the handling of alleged delicts according to the Church’s law in the diocesan context, from an initial notitia de delicto through the various canonical procedures to a judicial sentence. Throughout the semester, students will be expected to prepare the necessary legal documents and, if there are sufficient students enrolled, engage in a mock penal case taking various roles as advocates, judges, witnesses, etc. There will be no exam for the course, but regular and active participation will be essential.
