Listening to the East-Synodality in the Life and Mission of the Eastern Orthodox Church

Nov 2 at 17:30 - Nov 5 at 19:00

A Synodal Process on Synodality (2021-2023) has been initiated by Pope Francis in the Catholic Church.

PRO ORIENTE and the INSTITUTE FOR ECUMENICAL STUDIES of the Angelicum are contributing to this process by organizing international conferences in Rome with the purpose of knowing the synodal traditions from the different Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches.

In the dialogue with our Orthodox brothers and sisters, we Catholics have the opportunity to learn more about the meaning of episcopal collegiality and their experience of synodality.” Echoing these words of Pope Francis in Evangelii gaudium, the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of the Pontifical University Angelicum and the Foundation “Pro Oriente” are organising in Rome an international ecumenical conference from 2 to 5 November to explore how synodality is practiced in the Orthodox Church and what can the Catholic Church can benefit for her own synodal process.

The conference will be broadcasted on the YT channel of the Pontifical University Angelicum – HERE: https://www.youtube.com/user/prpust
