What:   *OPTIONAL one hour WALKING TOUR of the ANGELICUM’s HISTORIC NEIGHBORHOOD “Rione Monti”

When:  8:30 – 10:00 a.m. on Saturday 1 October 2022 (the day AFTER the official New Student Orientation)

Where: Front Gate of the Angelicum

Why:     To be better oriented, to meet new students. and to have the best experience while studying and living in Rome.

Join us for an informal walking tour of the “Rione Monti,” the Angelicum’s ancient neighborhood, and learn useful info in the immediate vicinity of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in order to have the best experience while living and studying in Rome.

TOUR INCLUDES:

Shortcuts around Rione Monti, the Imperial & Roman Forums, Piazza Santa Maria ai Monti, Convitto Internazionale di San Tommasso d’Aquino (the Dominican Order’s residential college for priests from developing countries), Tomb of St. Benedict Joseph Labre, local student hangouts and places to eat, coffee bar frequented by Fr. Karol Wojtyla (the Angelicum’s most distinguished alumnus), extraordinary views and little known facts of this part of Rome.

Churches include: Santa Maria ai Monti (parish in which university is located), St. Agatha of the Goths (last Arian church of Rome), St. Catherine of Magnanapoli (Italian Military Ordinariate), St. Bernardine of Siena (Chinese Catholic community).
