First International Workshop for Young Dominican Philosophers

First International Workshop for Young Dominican Philosophers

June 5–8, Angelicum hosts the First International Workshop for Young Dominican Philosophers “Thinking Virtuously in the Contemporary World” that gathers 17 Dominican philosophers from 8 provinces: Italy, England, Poland, India, Philippines, Australia, Saint Joseph and the Holy Name in the USA. The aim of the workshop is to gather young Dominican brothers who are currently PhD students or who received their doctorate within the last ten years to present their current research to a group of peers and senior philosophers. This is intended to establish an inter-provincial network of young scholars at the service of the mission of the Order and the Church.

Each of the participants shall present his paper and will receive feedback from peers, as well as three renowned keynote speakers: Prof. Mauricio Beuchot OP from Mexico City, Prof. Roger Pouivet from Université de Lorraine (France), and Prof. Stephen Grimm from Fordham University, New York. The event has been organised by brothers Dominik Jarczewski and Philip-Neri Reese and has been possible thanks to the generous support of the Angelicum Thomistic Institute.
