First Members of the Angelicum Fraternity make Profession

On 8 December 2018, solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, at 6:30 in the evening, six clerics, all currently doing their studies in different universities in Rome, made their perpetual promise in the Priestly Fraternities of St. Dominic: Fr. “Raymund Maria” Maximilian J. Nightingale (Diocese of Kalamazoo in Michigan, USA); Fr. “Dominic Mary” Sean R. DeWitt (Diocese of Austin in Texas, USA); Fr. “John the Baptist Marie” Dominic James Buckley (Diocese of Orlando in Florida, USA); Fr. “Thomas Aquinas Maria” Jason William Borkenhagen (Diocese of Wichita in Kansas, USA); Fr. “Pier Giorgio Maria” David Michael Fons (Diocese of Lansing in Michigan, USA); and Deacon Patrick Harrigan (Diocese of Scotland).

Fr. Dominic Holtz, OP, sub-prior of the Convent of Saints Dominic and Sixtus in Rome, the same friar who received the candidates in the novitiate formation a year ago, presided over the rite held at the choir chapel of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome. The ritual was also attended by other priests, friars of the convent, and Dominican sisters. With the promise made by the new members, the fraternity now looks forward to the establishment of a local council, and then the formulation of norms particular to the group. Fr. Miroslav Konštanc Adam, OP, looks after the fraternity as the designated Religious Assistant.
