This course follows from the work of Metaphysics 1. Beginning with Aristotle’s Metaphysics, we will review crucial themes in Aristotle’s metaphysics, especially his account of substance, and proceed to his accounts of actuality, immaterial substances, and the highest causes. We will also explore other metaphysical themes, including identity, modality, and time, considering contemporary approaches to these themes.
