Introduzione

The course is designed to explore the relationship between effective leadership and the practice of virtues. It provides students with an in-depth understanding of the concept of leadership, the importance of virtues in leadership, and how leaders can develop and integrate virtuous practices into their leadership style.
The course begins by exploring the fundamental concepts of leadership and the various leadership styles and theories, in particular the models of authentic, servant and coaching leadership. It then moves on to examine the neo-Aristotelian concept of virtue and the different virtues that are essential for effective leadership, such as honesty, integrity, prudence, courage, and justice. The course covers specific topics like self-awareness, motivation, emotional intelligence, building trust, organizational culture and group dynamics. It will also focus on the role of ethics in leadership. Students will examine ethical dilemmas that leaders face, and how they can make ethical decisions that align with their values and virtues.
