Quo Vadis European Union?
Faculty of Social Sciences’ Prof. Alejandro Crosthwaite, O.P. with a paper entitled Rethinking Europe. A Contribution from the Roman Catholic Tradition to the Future of the European Project; and Prof. Luigi Troiani with a paper entitled EU New Parliament and Commission at Work. Scenarios for the European and Transatlantic Near Future; participated in a conference at Stone]y Brook University (USA) sponsored by The Center for Italian Studies. The conference examined the effectiveness of the functioning of the European Union vis-à-vis its member states as well as the relationship with other power blocs in the world, the extent to which external forces as well as changes within the political system of the member states have a bearing on the future of the Union.
