Rev. John Bogna Bakeni is the new Auxiliary Bishop of Maiduguri (Nigeria)
The Holy Father has appointed Angelicum alumnus, Rev. John Bogna Bakeni as Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Maiduguri (Nigeria) and to the titular see of Leptimino. Until now he has been the Catholic chaplain for the University of Maiduguri. He obtained a doctorate in Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (2007-2012).
Since 2013 he has been: Pastor of St. Hilary in Polo; Administrator of St. Joseph Cathedral Parish and Dean of Maiduguri; Member of the College of Consultors, Secretary and Procurator of the Diocese of Maiduguri and President of the Commission for Interreligious Dialogue of the same Diocese.
