Sister Helen Alford OP. awarded honorary doctorate in the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa

On February 1st 2024, the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa (UCP) awarded an honorary doctorate in the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences to Sr Helen Alford OP. The UCP celebrates its foundation and ongoing academic community on the 1st Sunday of February each year with a High Mass in the Cathedral of Lisbon, and hosts a ceremony close to that date in which the award of Doctor honoris causa is given to individuals who are recognized for their outstanding work and careers.

Present at the ceremony were Don Rui Valerio, the Patriarch of Lisbon who is also the Grand Chancellor of the University, as well as the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education of the Portuguese government.
