Sr. Helen Alford, OP, at the House of the Lords

Sr. Helen Alford, OP, our Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, gave a talk in Committee Room No. 1 of the House of Lords in London, on Tuesday 28 March

It was the “Fogarty Memorial Lecture”, organised by the “Centre for Christian Democracy”, a small but interesting institution that supports Christians active in political life in the UK. Michael Fogarty was actively involved in it; he wrote what is still a definitive text on Christian Democracy in English entitled “Christian Democracy in Western Europe 1820-1953”
The title of Sr. Helen’s talk was “Facing our Crisis: Drawing on Catholic Social Teaching and Christian Democracy”.
