The United Association of Humanistic Buddhism visits the Angelicum

On 17 March the United Association of Humanistic Buddhism –Taiwan organized their “educational” Pilgrimage to the Vatican City & the Angelicum.  They were particularly interested in two dimensions of the Angelicum: the education and formation provided by our university and the religious life of a community dedicated to teaching and research.
After an introduction from the Rector, fr. Michael Sherwin OP and fr. Hyacinthe Destivelle OP gave some insights on these topics.

Fr. Sherwin said, “The visit of the Buddhist monks and nuns to the Angelicum was an historic encounter.  Besides their moving interest in Christian forms of prayer and contemplation, our common human concern for our contemporaries in this increasingly secular and materialistic world quickly became apparent.  Their visit was truly an encounter in the best sense of the term.”
